Screws Barrel is a critical component of any plastic extruder, injection molding machine, or food processing factory. Screw Barrel was used for feeding for decades, but thanks to a lot of research and development, screw Barrel designs have radically altered to make the extrusion process more efficient. Tirupati Industries manufactures a broad range of screw designs with exceptional precision:
A screw barrel is playing a vital role in producing PVC pipe. There are two types of screw barrels through which we can produce the PVC Pipe; a Single screw barrel and a twin-screw barrel. Single screw extruders consume more power in comparison to the twin-screw extruder. Twin-screw barrel produces almost double output in the same power consumption.
Injection molding machine molds can be fastened in either a horizontal or vertical position. The majority of machines are horizontally oriented, but vertical machines are used in some niche applications such as insert molding, allowing the machine to take advantage of gravity. The screw barrel is the heart of Injection molding as the quality of the screw barrel decides the quality of the end product. A single screw barrel is used in the Injection Moulding Machine. The important thing in injection molding is mixing and melting the plastic material. We build a single screw barrel along with Maddock and mixing ring which improves the mixing and melting of the plastic which result in a better quality of end product.
Blown film plant is used to produce Plastic film which is a thin continuous polymeric material. Thicker plastic material is often called a "sheet". These thin plastic membranes are used to separate areas or volumes, to hold items, to act as barriers, or as printable surfaces. The use of a screw barrel in a blown film plant depends on the layer of the film, mainly 4-5 numbers of extruder and screw barrel get used in blown film plant.
There are some types of screw design which mainly used in Blown Film Plant To maintain output and accomplish the required mixing, screw designers have created a wide variety of mixing devices. No one mixer fits all situations, so it is important to determine exactly what your overall process requirements are before selecting a mixer or even a combination of mixers.
Barrier Screw:
Barrier screw is mainly used to Increases Melting efficiency, It
increases the plasticizing capacity, Barrel screw also removes
solid bed breakup and allows more control and stability
Maddock Screw: Dispersive mixing applies force to the materials and thus requires drive energy that ends up in the polymer mix to help melt it and/or raise its temperature. Consequently, dispersive mixing assists or adds to the melting capacity of the screw. In addition, its tight clearances often function as a “dam,” restricting unmelted polymer from passing through until reduced in size or melted. Many screw designs would discharge unmelted polymer at almost all speeds without a dispersive mixer. The “Maddock” mixer is a very popular example of a mixer that is primarily dispersive, with lesser distributive characteristics.
This process starts by feeding plastic material (pellets, granules, flakes, or powders) from a hopper into the barrel of the extruder. The material is gradually melted by the mechanical energy generated by turning screws and by heaters arranged along the barrel. The molten polymer is then forced into a die, which shapes the polymer into a shape that hardens during cooling
Tape plants require grooved feed for better mixing and melting and to generate better output.
Sleeve Fitted Barrel :
At Tirupati Industries, Each Twin Barrel is fitted with Sleeve
Fitted Front Barrel to increase the life of the Screw Barrel. In
Screws, the Metering section goes
under heavy wear. The Screws are protected with a Bimetallic coating and to protect Barrel, It is fitted with Front Barrel with an HSS M2 Grade sleeve in it.
